Maesil Salad Dressing

Salad dressing made with korean green plum extract. Cook and prep time less than 5 minutes, it has only 3 ingredients

This easy-to-make salad dressing will get your creative juices flowing with the many variations you could make!

I am not one to eat a lot of salads so if there are basics around what goes well with what type of dressing, or which veggies to mix together, I can’t give you any advice. However, for this particular dressing, based on expert advice (my mom’s), I did include a few pointers that I found helpful:

  • Veggies that are on the harder side (from a consistency perspective) go very well with this dressing.
  • If you choose to include fruit, those that are on the acidic side may balance out the dressing better – we chose to include apple.

So now let’s jump straight into the ingredients.  This list is enough for 1-2 portions depending on your portion size but please adjust where you think it’s necessary for you and/or your group.

    • 1 Tbsp Mayo
    • 1 ½ Tbsp Maesil Syrup
    • 10-15 Peanuts (could be substituted with sesame seeds)

      • ½ Iceberg lettuce
      • 1 Persian cucumber
      • ½ Red onion
      • ½ Red bell pepper
      • ½ Apple
      • Handful of broccolis

Cut up all your veggies (I’m not going to explain how to cut each type since I’m not good with food aesthetics but please look at the picture here if you need some inspo 😊)

Prepare your dressing by chopping the peanuts and mixing with Mayo and Maesil Syrup.

If you still have some Maesil Syrup left, you could make yourself an iced Maesil tea by mixing 1-part Maesil syrup with 4 or 5 parts water, and adding a bunch of ice.  Alternatively, you could also enjoy your salad with a Maesil spritzer, which you can make by mixing 1-part Maesil syrup with 4- or 5-parts sparkling water.  Easy!

If you’re feeling a bit fancier, you could add a few extra ingredients to make it extraordinary! (recipe here)
